This city is the chief port, the financial, commercial and manufacturing center of the country.
One of the largest and most modern cities in Africa with office buildings and big-city traffic, it will not remind you of the eponymous film starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, but does have a few interesting sights for visitors along with a vibrant social scene and rich architectural heritage – most notably the enormous Hassan II Mosque which the tallest minaret in the world – that make it a fine stop over for a night or two.
