Your adventure starts with a night in Lima before heading to the lush waterways of the northern Amazon. The newest luxury vessel on the Amazon, the Aria started cruising in 2011 and was refurbished for 2015. Designed by renowned Peruvian architect and designer Jordi Puig, the Aria has been purpose built to provide upscale luxury in the Amazon.
There are 16 oversize suites accommodating a maximum of 32 guests. The design suites have 250 square feet of space with air conditioning, California king-size beds, 280 thread count Peruvian cotton sheets and a seating area, perfect comfort from which to enjoy the views through the extra-large picture windows. Despite the level of comfort one is always in touch with the surroundings, local flowers and Amazon photography by Jean Claude Constante decorating the rooms. Four of the suites can be interconnected for families.
Excursions are made to the shore on motorized skiffs where you will be accompanied by one of the four naturalist guides that are on the cruise. Up to three excursions are made each day and the nature of the activities will vary according to the weather and river level.
To relax, you can take advantage of the Aria’s large upper deck with an outdoor Jacuzzi, air conditioned bar and lounge and a sun deck, all perfect places to enjoy a post-excursion cocktail.

One of the most luxurious and spectacular boats from which to enjoy the Amazon, the Delfin I has recently been refitted and boasts four wood panelled suites with king size beds and 180 degree panoramic views. Two of these suites are equipped with a private deck and jacuzzi. Culinary tour: Market visit and lunch at La Picanteria
Start with a visit to one of Lima’s most emblematic and picturesque markets, where you can see, taste and purchase the most popular ingredients used in Peruvian cuisine. In the hands of our culinary expert, you may have the chance to try fruits from the coast, mountains and jungle, such as chirimoya, pacay, mango, passion fruit, aguaymanto and aguaje. You'll also have the chance to stop by the impressive seafood section, selling the likes of prawns, shrimp, octopus and scallops.
If you like, you can try and buy dried fruits and browse the handicrafts on offer, before then heading to La Picanteria, a restaurant owned by famous chef, Hector Solís. The restaurant looks to reproduce the rustic and traditional atmosphere of a picanteria, and the menu varies according to what's best in the market that day.

Visit the Inca fortress town of Ollantaytambo. The site was built just as the Spaniards arrived and is one of the most important if not visible vestiges of how the Incas inhabited and functioned in their cities making it a fascinating place to explore. There is a fortress at the top of the hill (and quite a few steps) which is particularly interesting to investigate for the techniques the Incas used in its construction.

Explore the fascinating and beautiful sites of Maras and Moray. Maras is an open system of terraces that has been used for centuries to harvest salt from a stream of mineral rich water that comes from within the mountain. Moray is an ancient system of Inca terraces which they used to acclimatise new plants to the high altitude environment.

Machu Picchu Mountain is a rewarding three-hour ascending hike taking you away from the larger crowds to enjoy the vistas.

Palacio Nazarenas, a beautifully-restored old palace and convent, is Belmond’s latest hotel in Cusco and another triumph on the same par as the nearby Monasterio.

Tour of Cusco and nearby ruins
Your local expert guide will collect you from your hotel for a private tour of the city, starting out at the Santo Domingo convent monastery. This former colonial monastery was previously the Koricancha Temple, one of the most important temples devoted to the worship of the sun. According to the chronicles, it was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Your next stop will be the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral.
You will be driven by private vehicle to the countryside just outside Cusco to visit some of the remarkable Inca ruins in the area such as the cult centre of Sacsayhuaman, the temple and amphitheatre of Kenko, and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.
PeruRail Titicaca Train from Cusco to Puno
The best way to cross the Andes from Cusco to Puno. The PeruRail Titicaca Train features an open-air observatory car, allowing you to take in the majestic views while enjoying the typical music and dances of the Peruvian highlands. Located on a private peninsula that juts out onto the fabled waters of Lake Titicaca, Titilaka is designed to allow guests to fully experience this magical and deeply historical place.
There are just 18 rooms spread over three floors, all boasting views out across the tranquil waters. Dawn rooms face east and catch the sun as it rises – an integrated bathroom means you can watch the sky light up while soaking in your oversized bath tub. Dusk rooms face west and from here you can catch the sun as it sinks behind the horizon at the end of the day. The corner suites are the largest and are located on the third floor, with double windows for incredible views.
The design is clean and contemporary with local textiles and fresh flowers to add colour and character. There is plenty of space to relax with three lounges, a reading room with books, games and DVDs, as well as wraparound terraces, overwater decks abd boardwalks to really connect you to the lake itself.
There is a small jetty at the end of the peninsula where boats depart from to explore the lake and its islands, and there are kayaks, row boats and bicycles available too. The lodge offers full-day, half-day or short activities – all of which are included in your stay – simply let them know on arrival what you would like to do each day.
Food at Titilaka is simple and wholseome and uses local produce such as lake trout and Andean spices. You can choose to dine in the restaurant or enjoy your meal outside, enjoying the views and the breeze from the lake. There is also a massage room should you wish to indulge.
